We used large wall tile on two of the walls, but broke up the lines with a one third/two thirds detail of vertical stacked fibra silk tile, bound by thin aluminum strips.
The before and after shots really tell the story with this bathroom. We removed 3 massive soffits, lifted the ceiling over 12" and enlarged the aspect of the sky light.
This is the sister job to the "Magical modern shower makeover" and they share the same plumbing wall. We employed simple materials with clean lines and neutral colors. We custom built the niche and mirror using Schluter Quadec aluminum trim.

Our tall clients decided on a long tub. The camera a hides it, but this is a 70" Hydro Systems Sidney tub.

The shelf was constructed entirely with Schluter Kerdi board. Clad with a weathered wood like tile and finished with Schluter Quadec trim.
